Worm Castings. That Liquid Compost Tea
Again. Liquid
in the form of nutritious compost tea runs though the system to be
collected in the lower tray. Fluted walls direct liquid towards a drain
tap, this enables easy access to natures best “plant food”
the compost tea. The unit is conveniently raised on legs providing
plenty of ground clearance for ease of liquid collection. What Can You Achieve With The
Can-Of-Worms Wormery.
Satisfaction
that's what you can achieve. Every Can-of-Worms is made from 100% post consumer
recycled plastic. So, due to the manner of its construction, to use this
product promotes and increases the market for recycled post consumer
plastics. Worm-assisted
composting in this system is a wholly self-sustaining
natural process. With use, your
worm system will grow in strength, size and capacity, removing more and
more organic waste from your household bins and subsequent landfill.
Outside the back door, in the garden, on the patio, in the garage, on
the balcony or even inside in the kitchen, the Can-of-worms is a
versatile self-contained freestanding unit that can be placed anywhere.
Its the most environmentally sound method for handling some regular
urban wastes, from the norm of kitchen
scraps, vegetable peelings to tea leaves and tea bags, coffee grounds and stale bread, to the
dreadful pet hairs and that horrible vacuum dust, in fact most things
that were once alive ( organic ) can be consumed. The children will love
the learning experience of keeping and feeding these educational pets
and participating in recycling. If you’re a fisherman, how about never
having to dig for worms again as you harvest your own worm stock, saving
time and money. |

The Worms. Well
Charles Darwin remarked in his book " Can man improve on
nature?" I think not " The formation of Vegetable Mould
through the Action of Worms " “It may be doubted whether there
are many other animals which have played so important a part in the
history of the world as have these lowly organized creatures". The
worms most often used for Vermicomposting are Eugenia Footed and
Lumbricus Rubellus, commonly known as red or tiger worms These types
of worms work best because they reproduce quickly ( being
hermaphroditic each worm will produce an egg capsule containing over 12
young, every 14-21 days ) and can consume large
amounts of organic material ( haft their own body weight per day ) breaking the material down into a
nutrient-rich compost.
